Beetroot Cutlet

I love cutlet that too when it is home made, my mom use to make cutlet or halwa using beetroot very frequently during my childhood days. Today I made this for first time, just for a evening snack. It came out so good and taste yummy.

Ingredients:

Beetroot: 1 (boiled)
Carrot: 1 (boiled)
Potato : 2 (boiled , smashed)
Chilli Powder - 1 teaspoon
Coriander Powder - 1 teaspoon
Garam Masala (optional) - 1 teaspoon
Onion - 1(finely chopped)
Coriander - few (finely chopped)
Salt - to taste
Bread crumbs - 6-8  tablespoon
Green chilli - 1(finely chopped)

Method:

1. Pressure cook beetroot and carrot together for 3 whistles and drain water completely. Once water drained, smash beetroot and carrot in a blender or smash it using potato smasher. Make sure no lumps are found.
2. Boil potato separately and smash it well and keep it aside.
3. Mix potato, beetroot carrot mixture, onion, green chilli, coriander leaf, chilli powder, coriander powder and salt.

4. To remove moisture from the above mixture, add bread crumbs around 4 tablespoon and make a thick consistency mixture.
5. Make balls of equal size and flatten it to form round cakes and set aside.
6. Sprinkle breadcrumbs over flat cakes and make sure cutlet is coated well with bread crumbs.

7. Heat tawa and place this cutlet by drizzling few oil over it. Cook the cutlet until both the sides turns crispy and brown.

Yummy, crispy and tasty cutlet is ready to be served. Serve it tomato ketchup.
